What a fantastic week we’ve had at Abbotsleigh Care Home!
We had a great day out with some of our residents. Firstly we took some of our ladies to our local garden centre for some tea, cake and good old chat! It was Doreen’s 86th birthday, so the lovely local garden staff presented her with a slice of special cake with a candle!
Then we took some of our gentlemen to a local pub for a pint in the afternoon; they absolutely loved this and our manager Alina came along too. We had great conversations and our residents enjoyed reminiscing about their younger days.
The Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) came along for a visit. This is always a highlight for our ladies and gents as they love making a fuss of their beautiful horses.
The wonderful Kevin Walsh came along on Friday afternoon to perform a medley of songs for our residents. He always involves everyone in his shows – holding the microphone out for people to sing and encouraging us all to dance. We had some very willing dancers too! Great fun!
Our lovely PAT dog Rueben came in to see us last week too. We are always delighted to see his cheery personality. He brings such joy to our Home.
