We got busy with our art supplies last week at Abbotsleigh Care Home, making lots of decorations for St George’s Day which we celebrated on Thursday 23 April.
Our ladies and gents enjoyed drawing around their hand to make ‘hands of hope’ posters. They also made some fantastic St George’s flags and dragon pictures, and had great fun making symmetry pictures too, with colourful paint.
Painting is such a relaxing pastime and it was great to see so many residents really getting into their artwork pieces.
We also enjoyed beanbag target practice last week, using our special numbered target; this is good fun and always has us laughing.
We’ve been continuing to take our residents for walks out in the grounds to enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been having. There’s nothing quite like a breath of fresh air under blue skies.
