We are delighted that our residents had a wonderful time last week on our virtual Cruise to Italy here at Abbotsleigh Care Home.
We decorated our Home with Italian flags, and posters, and our Chefs created a bountiful spread, with an amazing Italian menu for both lunch and tea.
It consisted of;
Lunch
Pizza
Spaghetti and various antipasti
TiramisuTeatime
Antipasto platters
Minestrone soup
Forest fruits panna cotta
As part of the fun we had our very own Mona Lisa cut out, which was hung in pride of place and we also made some art ourselves, using different coloured pasta pieces.
One of our Carers also brought in some of her mementos from travelling in Italy which we all enjoyed seeing.
A highlight of the celebrations was Italian singer and guitarist, Santino Fabbricatore, who performed outside the front of our Home. He entertained our residents with some romantic Italian songs, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
A fantastic day, full of colour and fun!
