Abbotsleigh Care Home residents take a fun trip to Teapot Island

We took a group of our Abbotsleigh Care Home residents to Teapot Island in Yalding recently to marvel at the enormous 8000 teapot collection housed in a museum there.

Teapot Island is a fantastic teapot museum based in the picturesque village of Yalding in Kent. The museum grew from the personal teapot collection of owner Sue Blazye, which started when her grandmother gave her a teapot in 1983, encouraging other family members and friends to do the same. The centre showcases thousands of pieces – the biggest collection in the UK – each with their own unique history, style and character.

Our residents were in awe of the huge collection of teapots and really enjoyed the unusual and funny ones on display. We were amazed at the sheer amount of unusual teapots available to feast our eyes on, but our favourite had to be the Chocolate Teapot!

We also had a spot of tea and cake during our visit.

We will definitely return to the museum as it makes for a great day out!
