We’ve been delighted by such beautiful weather recently and making the most of it here at Abbotsleigh Care Home.
We have encouraged a little gardening and a few of our residents have enjoyed lunch in our beautiful garden and decking area.
We’ve had great fun making Easter baskets by dipping balloons into melted chocolate, which is so pleasing to watch! We’ve also continued with our spring crafts, including a lovely Easter paper collage of eggs, flowers and rabbits.
One of our families dropped some photos of ‘dad’s farming days‘ in to us, so we made a photobook for Alf B. He was so happy to have these and took great pride in telling us the stories behind the pictures – it was a pleasure to listen to.
We also had a big birthday last week. On Friday 10 April, our lovely resident Pearl G turned 90. She loved her birthday cake, card and her poster. She was a little overwhelmed by all the attention, so we gave her lots of hugs as well!
To top off our week, we were extremely fortunate to receive a donation of 99 Easter eggs from the family of one of our residents, Victor J. They donated enough eggs for all our residents and staff! Thank you so much to the Jeffery family for such an incredibly kind gesture.
