Our residents have been enjoying some light gardening this week at Abbotsleigh Care Home, with some potting inside and watering outside, as we made the most of this lovely weather.
Our resident Alf B was astounded with modern technology recently as our Activity Team staff were able to find an old Errol Flynn film, which he loved! He started off by watching ‘Santa Fe‘ and we could see how much it meant to him.
We’ve been spending lots of one-to-one time with our residents and getting our creative juices flowing with drawing, colouring and painting, which our ladies and gents really enjoy. Our lovely Jean O also helped our Activity Team with our ‘Tart up your trolley’ competition entry, which was much appreciated.
International Nurses Day
On Tuesday 12 May we celebrated International Nurses Day at our Home. All our amazing Nurses were presented with a bottle of prosecco and a box of chocolates and our carers received a gift as well. We are so appreciative of their continued hard work and commitment through the current pandemic.
Alina’s amazing cheesecake
A highlight this week was when our fantastic Manager Alina took to our kitchen and made all our staff Romanian cheesecake on Friday 15 May, to show how much she appreciates everybody’s hard work.
The Romanian cheesecake is a little different to the usual English/American recipe. Ingredients include rum essence, vanilla essence, orange essence, cream cheese and raisins; the most important and special ingredient is love!
Thank you so much for spoiling us Alina, it was delicious!
