We were thrilled recently to welcome entertainer Simon to Abbotsleigh Care Home with his ‘Let’s Go To The Movies’ theatre act.
Simon interacted with our residents and got them all singing along to favourite musicals, including The King and I, The Sound of Music and Fiddler On The Roof, to name a few.
Everyone really enjoyed the music, which was very uplifting.
Themed garden
Residents and staff have enjoyed spending time in the sunshine out in our beach-themed garden. As you can see from the photo, we have boats, dolphins, beach huts, deck chairs and our very own lighthouse. We really have loved being ‘beside the seaside, beside the sea’!
We have our residents to thank for making the decorations; a Crafty Crafts session with Antonio saw them making port holes for our boat, marine decorations and our impressive lighthouse. All this was for our entry into Nellsar in Bloom. We’ve enjoyed lots of fun and laughter making everything.
Jenny has enjoyed making a scented flower arrangement and Alex our Chef has been helping Jeremy pick our home grown cucumbers, runner beans and tomatoes. We’re very proud of our bumper crop!
