Last week at Abbotsleigh Care Home, we enjoyed making love hearts and reminiscing about Valentine’s Day and how we enjoyed it when we were younger.
As part of a sensory activity, we painted hearts in plastic zip lock bags – a different way of painting (much cleaner!) which gave a wonderful marble effect. This was a brilliant activity to do with residents in their bedrooms.
Brenda enjoyed showing off her artistic flair with a heart chalk drawing, whilst some of our residents painted pieces of jigsaw puzzles which we then glued into a heart shape.
Our homemade Valentine’s table settings looked beautiful with heart-shaped decorations and red roses, whilst our magnificent dessert trolley boasted a tempting array of fancies, including a stunning heart-shaped cake and strawberries dipped in chocolate, prepared by our Kitchen staff. Delicious!
